In this case, for your comment no.1, why should a table a female in French? and a flower a male? Would a differentiation in grammatical gender and/or a notional gender bring any benefits to improve diversity and acceptance?
and on comment no.2, I assume you are suggesting I should tighten my language and I totally agree. Thank you! I guess the point of my article is that linguistic limitations have brought limitation to how we think about genders. "They" certain include "genderless" people, women, men, transgender and everybody else, do you think that is a good thing?
